Montara Winery is located in the Grampians region of Victoria, Australia.

  The winery's vineyards are located on the east-facing slopes of Chalambar, at an altitude of between 312-360 meters above sea level, a unique geographic situation that protects the vineyards from frost. The soil is red loam in the upper layers and gravel or shale in the lower layers. The climatic conditions are ideal for producing wines with cool climate characteristics, with an average annual rainfall of about 500 ml, an average temperature of about 19°C in January, and sunny days and cool nights during the growing season, which are conducive to the slow ripening of the grapes and the full accumulation of flavor substances. The vineyard covers an area of 19 hectares and the main grape varieties include Syrah, Pinot Noir and Riesling, with an average age of more than 60 years. In addition, a small amount of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are also planted in the vineyard.

  Montagnais Vineyards offers a wide range of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines. Notably, the 2012 vintage of Montara Jimmy Shiraz, Grampians, Australia received the 2014 International Wine Challenge Recommended Award.
